So what makes Vince Di Zazzo engaging? A passion for teaching drums, surely. But a great teacher must also have insight into human nature. As in all the great instructors, Vince inevitably possesses a wry sense of humor, a knowingness that comes from having thought about his own weaknesses. Vince is always looking for new and effective ways to promote positive behavior in his students.

In my opinion, the best part of the teaching profession is that I am always trying to become highly effective in my approach and in my delivery of the lesson material. There is no greater satisfaction than experiencing those truly inspirational moments where I'm working in unison with a student, not caring about the time of day or whether the lesson went too long or not. Teaching is not a job it's a profession and can not be left in the classroom when you go home.

Vince strongly believes that teaching is about being focused on the positive, while working on the negative. He will not hesitate to pick up the phone to call a parent if he is concerned about a student.

We need to focus on great teaching, and figure out how we will engage our students during a time when there are more distractions coming at them than ever before. In order to be effective as a teacher my students must have a clear understanding of what they will be learning, what the assignments are weekly, and what is the standard to achieve. All lessons have learning goals, and I give my students ample opportunity to practice new skills.
