Matt Thauvette is a professional drummer and drum teacher based out of Dartmouth Nova Scotia. Matt is probably most known for his work with multiple East Coast Music Award winner, Mo Kenney. As a part of Mo’s band Matt has toured extensively through Canada, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Matt also plays in his own projects, The Chronos Band and Young River (both nominated for East Coast Music Awards), and has appeared on several albums in the past few years, including records by Adam Baldwin, Heather Green, Dylan Menzie and Dana Beeler.

When not touring, Matt loves teaching drums. He has been teaching professionally since 2004 and in that time has created a curriculum for all levels and ages of students. He holds a Diploma and a Degree in Music Performance from St. Francis Xavier University and Grant MacEwan College and attended The Banff Centre For The Arts .
